From the Kentucky State Board of Elections 2026 general election summary.

  • Monday, October 5, 2026: Last day to register. Register online by 4 p.m. local time. A mailed registration card can be postmarked October 5. A card taken to the clerk's office can be accepted by close of business.
  • September 19, 2026, 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time, through October 20, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time: Online portal is open to request a mail-in absentee ballot.
  • October 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, and 28, 2026: In-person excused absentee voting.
  • October 29, 30, and 31, 2026: Early in-person, no-excuse absentee voting.
  • Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time: In-person Election Day voting. Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by 6:00 p.m. local time that day.
